In response to those who speculated about her motivation, Grimes addressed her early connection with Lizzo, “Lizzo was nice to me before Elon when she blew up and I was still indie as f—. The lawsuit, filed on August 1 in Los Angeles County Superior Court, names Lizzo, her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc., and her dance team captain Shirlene Quigley. The plaintiffs allege various forms of mistreatment, including inappropriate touching and weight shaming.
Despite Lizzo‘s denial and refutation of the claims, Grimes’ support for the artist shines a light on the complexities of loyalty and empathy in the face of controversies within the entertainment industry.
