Ezra Miller Is Making a Slow Return To Hollywood
Ezra Miller is coming back to Hollywood after taking a break in 2023. After facing a series of allegations of abuse and harassment, they stayed out of the limelight after these controversies. Now, Miller cautiously returns to Hollywood after this period. However, recent appearances have hinted at a potential comeback.
At the Cannes Film Festival, Miller attended the premiere of “Die My Love,” supporting Lynne Ramsay. The artists know each other from their work on the 2011 film “We Need to Talk About Kevin.” Thus, after a long hiatus, the appearance marks a tentative but significant step back into the industry. Miller also attended the Filming Italy Sardinia festival. During that, Miller gave an interview to Lo Speciale Giornale. They revealed their plans to return to film on “tentative grounds.”
“I’m working with [Ramsay] again, that will likely be the first thing I do,” Miller shared. “It’s a film that her and I are writing together.” They admired Ramsay, calling her “one of the greatest living filmmakers.” Miller also reflected on the nature of their return. “I came to Cannes because she asked me to come, and if there’s anything I still believe in my life, it’s devotion to one’s people, one’s loved ones… above all else.”
Thus, they acknowledged the challenges of reintegrating into the public eye.“That’s a tough reentry point. If you’ve been in the woods for three years, I do not recommend going straight to Cannes.” Still, their dedication to Ramsay was evident.”But yeah, I did that for Lynne. I would do anything for Lynne.”
Ezra Miller and Legal Issues
Multiple legal issues, including arrests for disorderly conduct and second-degree assault. Also, the accusation of burglary marked Miller’s past. In 2022, separate orders of protection were filed against them about accusations involving an 18-year-old in Standing Rock Sioux tribal court. Also, they were accused of a 12-year-old in Massachusetts. However, these orders were later lifted.
In response to the accusations, Ezra Miller publicly apologized and revealed they were addressing “complex mental health issues.” Reflecting on this period in their life, Ezra Miller talked with Lo Speciale Giornale. “When you work in this industry, you will find yourself in deep relation with a lot of people who do not give a single fuck about you or your well-being at all.”
According to what was stated, Miller’s return to the field is one that has to be gradual. First, for personal growth and then to re-emphasize those creative partnerships, particularly with Ramsay. It is to be expected that, in attempting to chart their own way forward, the actor will want to both right any wrongs and find new projects in which to work with others.
