Josh Hall Clears ‘Flip’ Promos from Instagram as Divorce with Christina Hall Proceeds
Amid a recent split from Christina Hall, Josh Hall has started cleaning up his Instagram account. Following his divorce filing on July 15, Josh, 43, has removed promotional videos he appeared in for the HGTV series The Flip Off from his main Instagram page. However, these videos are still accessible under the Reels tab on his profile.
Josh was originally slated to star in The Flip Off alongside Christina, 41, her ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, 42, and Tarek’s wife, Heather Rae El Moussa, 36. On July 23, multiple sources confirmed that filming has resumed for the series, but without Josh. The show was designed to feature both couples competing against each other in a house-flipping showdown. As of now, it is unclear how the show will be restructured following Josh’s departure.
Despite some speculation, Christina has confirmed that there are no plans for her second husband, Ant Anstead, to replace Josh in the show. Responding to a fan on Instagram who suggested Anstead would boost ratings, Christina stated that she “can’t work with any more exes.”
The promotional strategy for The Flip Off leaned heavily on the complex relationships among the participants, releasing content as early as May that played up the interpersonal drama. One notable promotional video, shared by both Josh and Tarek on Instagram, spoofed the 2008 film Step Brothers and showcased the playful rapport between them. Another promo highlighted Christina and Heather’s striking resemblance, adding a layer of intrigue to the series.
Christina and Tarek’s shared history dates back to their first HGTV series, Flip or Flop, which they continued to film even after their divorce in 2016, concluding in 2022. The former couple shares two children, Taylor, 13, and Brayden, 8. Christina also has a four-year-old son, Hudson, with Anstead, whom she was married to from December 2018 until September 2020.
Josh Hall, a frequent presence on Christina’s shows Christina on the Coast and Christina in the Country, cited “irreconcilable differences” in his divorce filing, requesting spousal support. The filing, dated July 16, revealed that Josh and Christina were first linked in July 2021 and had secretly married in October 2021, before publicly confirming their marriage in April 2022.
Breaking his silence about the divorce, Josh posted on Instagram expressing his preference for privacy during such a challenging time. “I prefer privacy, especially during something as life-changing as a divorce I did not ask for,” he wrote, alongside a photo of himself with his dog Stella.
“I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately, the internet is forever,” Josh continued. “We are real humans, this is our life and I am not here to entertain people I don’t know with my private matters. Those details will be handled fairly behind closed doors with our respective counsels in due time.”
Josh concluded by saying, “Those who know each of us, know who we are.”
As Josh and Christina navigate their separation, the future of The Flip Off remains in question, leaving fans eager to see how the show will proceed without Josh’s involvement.
