Clarifying the Confusing Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Divorce Rumors
Jennifer Lopez made a brief mention of Ben Affleck on Jimmy Kimmel Live! amidst ongoing rumors of tension in their marriage.
During her appearance on the late-night talk show on Monday, May 20, the Atlas actress, 54, shared a story with host Jimmy Kimmel about being starstruck when she first met Barbra Streisand.
She mentioned Affleck in passing, recounting how Streisand commented on her engagement ring, “from back when Ben gave it to me years ago.” Lopez and Affleck were previously engaged in 2004 before calling off their wedding.
Lopez recalled Streisand‘s comment about the ring: “So that’s a big diamond.”
Agreeing, Lopez replied, “Yes, it is.” Later, Kimmel asked Lopez if her kids would be joining her on her upcoming This Is Me… Now Tour. The multi-talented star, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, mentioned that her teenagers find it “awkward” to watch her perform because they see her at home without the glam, as opposed to the “sexy” things she does on stage.
Kimmel asked, “You don’t do sexy things at home?”
“I do sexy things at home sometimes, but they don’t know about that,” Lopez replied.
Lopez’s comments followed days of reports hinting at tension in her marriage to Affleck, 51, her husband of nearly two years.
Shortly after they were seen together in public on May 16 for the first time since March 30, the “Jenny from the Block” singer “liked” social media posts about unhealthy relationships. On May 19, the two were seen together wearing their wedding rings.
Lopez filmed the movie Kiss of the Spiderwoman and spent April and May in New York promoting her new Netflix movie Atlas and attending the 2024 Met Gala without a date. Meanwhile, Affleck stayed on the West Coast to film The Accountant 2 and recently appeared solo at Netflix’s live May 5 Roast of Tom Brady. Lopez and Affleck do not have any children together but have a blended family from their previous marriages. Affleck, previously married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, shares three children with her: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
