Porno For Pyros Reignites with “Horns, Thorns En Halos” Tour After 25 Years
After a 25-year hiatus, Porno For Pyros, led by charismatic vocalist Perry Farrell, is staging a grand comeback with a nationwide tour dubbed ‘Horns, Thorns En Halos.’ This marks not only their first tour in a quarter-century but also their 30th anniversary as a band.
Perry Farrell, the distinctive voice of Jane’s Addiction and co-founder of the celebrated Lollapalooza festival, brought the exciting news to the public on Tuesday, July 11. The long-anticipated revival of his other band, Porno For Pyros, has sparked immense excitement among fans.
Scheduled for 21 performance dates, the “Horns, Thorns En Halos” tour is set to commence on October 8 at the Hard Rock Live Sacramento in Wheatland, California. The final show is planned for November 20 at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, Texas. Live Nation is responsible for producing this highly awaited tour.
Last year, the band gave fans a taste of their potential reunion through a series of performances. Notably, a July show at the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles brought Farrell, Jane’s drummer Stephen Perkins, guitarist Peter DiStefano, and bassist Martyn LeNoble together on stage once again. The band also participated in Florida’s Welcome to Rockville and Lollapalooza festivals and delivered a stellar performance at Chicago’s renowned Metro club.
In addition to their thrilling comeback tour, Porno For Pyros has been busy in the recording studio working on new music. Fans can look forward to a possible album release by the end of this year.
Born from the ashes of Jane’s Addiction in 1992, Porno For Pyros made a significant mark on the music scene. They are renowned for their two studio albums: their eponymous debut released in 1993, and “Good God’s Urge” in 1996. The band is best known for their psychedelic pop hits such as “Pets” and “Tahitian Moon.” After a period of inactivity since 1998, the band made brief appearances for Farrell’s 50th birthday in 2009, and again for the 2020 Lollapalooza YouTube show amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tickets for the much-anticipated ‘Horns, Thorns En Halos’ tour will be available for presale starting Wednesday, July 12. Additional presales will follow throughout the week, leading up to the general sale on Friday, July 14, at 10 a.m. local time.
