Sydney Sweeney Launches A New Bar of Soap With Her Smell
Sydney Sweeney is once again embracing the unexpected with the launch of a limited-edition soap. The soap comes in partnership with Dr. Squatch and is infused with her actual bathwater.
The Euphoria and Anyone But You star, who has become one of
Hollywood’s most talked-about young talents. Sydney Sweeney has also often been at the center of online discourse. Yet, much of it is uncomfortably focused on her appearance. Now, she’s cleverly flipping the narrative with the release of Bathwater Bliss. Thus, she is making a tongue-in-cheek nod to the more obsessive corners of her fan base.

“When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it or turn it into a bar of Dr. Squatch soap,” Sweeney said in the announcement. The new product combines a rugged blend of exfoliating sand and pine bark extract. Also, most importantly, a splash of the real water from a bath Sweeney took.
Thus, the partnership follows a viral 2023 ad that featured Sweeney in a bathtub for Dr. Squatch. In this way, Sydney Sweeney helped introduce the brand’s products to a broader audience. This latest launch pushes the envelope even further.
“It’s weird in the best way,” Sweeney said. “And I love that we created something that’s not just unforgettable — it actually smells incredible and delivers like every other Dr. Squatch product I love. Hopefully, this helps guys wake up to the realities of conventional personal care products and pushes them towards natural.”
Sydney Sweeney and Bathwater Bliss
Thus, only 5,000 bars of Bathwater Bliss will be produced, and the soap officially goes on sale on June 6. Ahead of the launch, Dr. Squatch runs a giveaway through its Instagram page from May 29 to June 5. The company is offering 100 fans the chance to win a bar by following, liking, and commenting on a designated post.
In a behind-the-scenes conversation with GQ, Sweeney elaborated on the quirky production process. “When we were at the [Dr. Squatch] shoot, they had a tub for me,” she recalled. “I actually got in there, and I took some soap. We had a nice little bath, and they took the water. So it’s my real bath water.”
Sweeney added that she wanted the soap’s scent to reflect her Pacific Northwest roots. “There’s this really outdoorsy scent of pine and earthy moss and fir. So it smells super manly. But then there’s some city bathwater mixed in,” she joked.
The actress has been open about the complex relationship she has with fame and the frequent over-sexualization she experiences. In a candid Variety interview earlier this year, Sweeney spoke about the issue. She said that she is feeling like she’s lost a sense of agency over how people perceive and discuss her.
“I see it, and I just can’t allow myself to have a reaction,” she said at the time. “People feel connected and free to be able to speak about me in whatever way they want because they believe that I’ve signed my life away. That I’m not on a human level anymore.”
With Bathwater Bliss, Sweeney is taking back some of that narrative — one limited-edition bar of soap at a time.
