Shakira Threw Some Shade At Her Ex On Valentine’s Day

Shakira isn’t letting her allegedly unfaithful ex escape the agony he inflicted. This Valentine’s Day, while most people were spending time with their significant others, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer chose the opportunity to criticize her ex. The jibe comes after the singer, who is Colombian-born, made fun of Gerard Piqué in her most recent song, “Monotonia.”

Fans think the song’s lyrics are a clear jab at her ex, who she originally teased with cryptic social media messages. The song’s official music video opens with these Spanish lyrics, which Shakira sings while munching in a grocery aisle: “It wasn’t your fault, nor was it mine. It was monotony’s fault. I never said anything, but it hurt me. I knew this would happen.” Now, she’s backing it up with her Valentine’s Day shots.
The singer, 46, uploaded a video to Instagram in which she can be seen singing the lyrics to SZA’s song “Kill Bill.” Shakira mouths the following lines in the video: “I might kill my ex, not the best idea. His new girlfriend’s next, how’d I get here? / I might kill my ex, I still love him though / Rather be in jail than alone / I did it all for love.”
