Sam Heughan Jokes Taylor Swift Will ‘Shake Off’ Travis Kelce Once They Meet: ‘She’ll Forget Him’
“When she comes to Scotland and sees me in the audience, she’s going to forget all about him,” Heughan quipped, referencing the Kansas City tight end. Sam Heughan is gearing up for Taylor Swift‘s Eras Tour stop in Scotland — but is Travis Kelce ready for it?
In a video shared on Instagram on June 5, the 44-year-old Outlander star expressed his excitement about seeing the “Fortnight” singer perform this weekend and personally welcomed her to Edinburgh, Scotland.
“We’re going to see Taylor Swift perform in Scotland, and I think most of the cast is joining,” he said to the camera while in full costume. “She doesn’t know this yet, but when she comes to Scotland and spots me in the crowd, she’ll forget all about him [Travis Kelce] and fall for a man in a ginger wig.” Heughan smiled and added, “How can she resist? She’s going to shake him off and choose me instead. I’m really excited!”
Accompanying his video with Swift’s song “Ready For It?,” the actor referenced his Outlander character, James Alexander Malcolm Mackenzie Fraser, in the caption, “Welcome to Scotland Taylor! JAMMF is a Swiftie.” Though it all seemed to be in good fun, Kelce might have some competition. After all, he and Swift started their romance after he planned to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. Since then, the couple has been openly affectionate. Swift attended this year’s Super Bowl to support the NFL player, and they were seen dancing at the Coachella Music Festival in April. The Grammy-winning artist even mentioned their relationship in her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Heughan‘s video comes shortly after he was seen strolling through London with an unidentified woman on May 29. The pair held hands and matched in all-black outfits as they walked together in the city’s Soho neighborhood. The Scottish actor has not publicly confirmed any relationships or announced he is dating someone, but he previously mentioned he is “still looking” for the one.
In May 2023, while promoting his romantic comedy Love Again, Heughan told he hoped love was on the horizon and revealed he is a “romantic at heart.”
When asked about the craziest thing he’s done in pursuit of love, the actor said, “I’ve done all the gift-giving and showing up unexpectedly, but so far, I’m still looking.” Swift will perform from Friday, June 7 to Sunday, June 9 in Edinburgh at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium.
