Niall Horan’s “The Show” A Live Album Masterpiece
Niall Horan is on track to score his second solo No. 1 album in the U.K. with his live album The Show. The former One Direction star released the album on Friday, December 10, featuring recordings from his Royal Albert Hall livestream concert in November 2020.
According to the Official Charts Company, The Show is leading the race for the top spot on the Official Albums Chart, with over 25,000 chart sales in the first three days of the week. The album is outselling the rest of the top five combined, and is set to become Horan’s second No. 1 album following his debut Flicker in 2017.
The Show features songs from Horan’s two studio albums, Flicker and Heartbreak Weather, as well as some covers and collaborations with Anne-Marie and Ashe. The album also includes a bonus DVD of the livestream concert, which raised over £2 million for Horan’s touring crew and the #WeNeedCrew relief fund amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Horan is not the only One Direction member to release a live album this year. In October, Harry Styles dropped Love On Tour: Harry Styles Live In Dallas, which debuted at No. 4 on the Official Albums Chart. Meanwhile, Liam Payne released LP1: Live From The X Factor Finale in November, featuring his performance at the talent show’s finale in 2019.
Horan is also gearing up for his rescheduled Nice To Meet Ya Tour, which will kick off in April 2022 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The tour will see him perform across Europe, North America and Australia, with Anne-Marie and Ashe as his special guests.
