Miley Cyrus Drops The New Trailer for “Something Beautiful”
Miley Cyrus has dropped the official trailer for Something Beautiful. The Grammy-winning artist presented a visually rich and sonically bold project. With it, she totally blurs the lines between film, fashion, and music.
Hence, the visual album will premiere in select North American theaters on June 12 as a one-night-only event. Meanwhile, the international screenings will follow on June 27 via Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision.
Described as a “one-of-a-kind cinematic experience,” Something Beautiful will first debut at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival on June 6.
So, the trailer teases a kaleidoscope of stylized imagery, dramatic lighting, and surreal set pieces. Yet, all of it is pulsing to the rhythm of Cyrus’ new music. The visuals hint at a psychedelic narrative arc from gilded palaces to post-apocalyptic dreamscapes. With cinematography by Spring Breakers lensman Benoît Debie, the film drips with atmosphere.
Miley Cyrus and “Something Beautiful”
Thus, produced by Miley Cyrus herself in collaboration with XYZ Films and Mandy director Panos Cosmatos, the project also boasts direction from Cyrus, Jacob Bixenman, and Brendan Walter. Cyrus isn’t pulling any punches regarding the creative roster, either. The film combines sound legends Shawn Everett and Alan Meyerson, delivering sonic textures that match the film’s avant-garde visuals.
“This is my dream project, and it has come true,” Miley Cyrus said. “Something Beautiful is where fashion, film, and original music exist in harmony. Each of my collaborators is a genius, from Panos Cosmatos’ vision to the musical mastery of Shawn Everett and Alan Meyerson. Together, we created something that’s not just watchable — it’s a total immersion.”
The visual album arrives in tandem with Cyrus’ new full-length studio effort, also titled Something Beautiful. The album drops May 30 via Columbia Records. The 13-track LP features collaborations with fashion icon Naomi Campbell and Brittany Howard of Alabama Shakes. Thus, she is adding layers of edge and soul to the already genre-bending project.
So, billed as a “one-of-a-kind pop opera fueled by fantasy,” the album reflects Cyrus’ evolving artistry — one that thrives at the intersection of pop culture, provocation, and self-expression. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she likened the concept to Pink Floyd’s The Wall but “with a better wardrobe,” explaining that the project serves as “an attempt to medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
If the trailer is any indication, Something Beautiful won’t just be a visual album — it’ll be a statement. Thus, a high-gloss fever dream with a pulse, ready to disrupt the pop narrative once again.
