Jessie J has revealed that she has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. The singer opened up to fans in a heartfelt Instagram video shared on Tuesday.

Jessie J addressed her followers with candor and courage. “I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I’m highlighting the word ‘early.’ Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early.’”

In the video, Jessie explained that she had been quietly undergoing tests in recent months. Thus, she has been considering whether to share the news publicly. Ultimately, she chose openness.

“I’ve always shared everything that I go through in my life,” she said. “I just wanted to be open and share it. One, because selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard.”

So, the singer added that connecting with fans has helped her navigate personal challenges in the past. “I also know how much sharing has helped me—people giving me their love and support and their own stories. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse. That’s the bit that kills me.”

Jessie J noted that her latest releases, including “No Secrets” and “Living My Best Life,” were written and scheduled before her diagnosis. She joked in the caption of her post, always one to bring levity to heavy moments. “No (more) Secrets, and is it too soon to do a remix called ‘Living my breast life’?”

Looking ahead, Jessie shared that she plans to take time off later this year to undergo surgery. “I will disappear for a bit after the summer,” she said before quipping with her signature wit: “And I will come back with massive tits and more music.”
The titular single was met with an outpouring of exhibits of love and support from the fans and fellow artists, many of whom praised the singer for her honesty and bravery.
