Adele’s Emotional Moment with Céline Dion at Her Las Vegas Residency Show

Adele was brought to tears during her recent Las Vegas residency performance after a heartfelt encounter with fellow music legend, Céline Dion. The emotional moment took place on Saturday, Oct. 26, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Adele has been performing her residency shows.

In a video captured by fans, Adele, 36, was singing her ballad “When We Were Young” when she spotted Céline Dion, 56, sitting in a nearby box. Overcome with emotion, Adele approached the Canadian singer, and the two shared a touching embrace. The moment lasted several seconds, with Dion holding Adele’s face and kissing her hand, both visibly moved by the encounter. Adele, wiping away tears, waved to the audience and returned to her performance, but the heartfelt exchange left both singers and the audience emotional.

This interaction was particularly special, as it represented a full-circle moment for the pair. Adele, who has long admired Dion, had previously attended Dion’s concert during her second Las Vegas residency at the same venue in 2018. At the time, Celine Dion shared her appreciation for Adele on Instagram, posting, “Wasn’t able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them… I love her so much!!” Adele, equally thrilled, called the concert “an absolute highlight of my life” and shared a photo of herself wearing a Céline Dion T-shirt during the visit.

In Saturday’s show, Dion was reportedly accompanied by her two sons, Nelson and Eddy Angélil, 14, who were seen comforting their mother after the emotional encounter with Adele. Several fan-captured clips posted on social media showed Dion dabbing her eyes while Adele continued her performance with tear-streaked cheeks.

This moment highlights the deep admiration Adele has for Dion, as she has often spoken about her in interviews. During a 2021 Vogue interview, Adele revealed that her “proudest possession” is a framed piece of gum chewed by Dion, gifted to her by James Corden after Dion’s appearance on his Carpool Karaoke series.

Adele’s emotional residency performances are coming to a close in November 2024. The Grammy-winning artist recently shared with fans that she plans to step away from the music industry for a significant period once her Las Vegas residency ends. During a concert in Munich, she told the audience, “I have 10 shows to do, but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time, and I will hold you dear in my heart.”

This tearful embrace between two iconic artists, Adele and Céline Dion, serves as a powerful reminder of the mutual respect and admiration between these musical legends. Fans will cherish this unforgettable moment as Adele prepares to close this chapter of her career.
