Ben Affleck recently purchased a new $20.5 million home in Los Angeles on July 24, coinciding with Jennifer Lopez‘s birthday, the same day she finalized the sale of her New York City condo. This significant day marked a major milestone for the couple in their real estate ventures.
Affleck, 51, acquired a 5-bedroom equestrian estate in L.A., designed by architect Cliff May, shortly after he and Lopez listed their Beverly Hills mansion for $68 million. They had initially bought the 12-bedroom, 24-bathroom property for $60.85 million in May 2023 and first attempted to sell it off-market. Meanwhile, Lopez, 55, sold her New York penthouse for $23 million, a four-bedroom, 7.5-bath duplex.
These real estate transactions occurred during a period when the couple has been spending time apart. Lopez celebrated her birthday in New York, hosting a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons on July 20. Numerous guests, including her mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, attended the event, but Affleck was notably absent.
Affleck has spent most of the summer working on the production of “The Accountant 2” in Los Angeles. Even though filming has wrapped, he and Lopez have continued to spend time apart on different coasts, including during the Fourth of July holiday and their two-year wedding anniversary.
During her time on the East Coast, Lopez has been seen enjoying bike rides, hitting the gym, and spending time with Affleck’s 18-year-old daughter, Violet. Despite the distance and the unexpected turns her summer plans have taken, Lopez has made the most of her time.
