Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Accused of Assaulting Music Executive Over Relationship with Ex Kim Porter: Reports
Sean “Diddy” Combs allegedly assaulted his ex Kim Porter’s boyfriend in 2000.
On Tuesday, May 28, Rolling Stone published accounts from various people in Combs’ circle who claim Combs broke a chair over the head of Kim Porter’s boyfriend, music executive Shakir Stewart. Porter passed away from lobar pneumonia in 2018, and Stewart died by suicide in 2008, according to Variety.
Combs and Porter began their relationship in 1994 and dated on and off until 2007. Their relationship ended when Porter discovered Combs had fathered a daughter, Chance, with Sarah Chapman while she was pregnant with their twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie.
In 2000, Porter dated music executive Shakir Stewart, which reportedly angered the rapper. That summer, Combs, Porter, and Stewart were in Italy for L.A. Reid’s wedding. During the event, the rapper allegedly went to Stewart’s room after the ceremony and broke a chair over his head, as recounted by Stewart’s mother and close friends to Rolling Stone.
Porter also previously told Essence that while separated and dating Jennifer Lopez, Combs would call her “50, 60 times a day,” adding, “It was like my life was not my own.… He was very, very intrusive.” Rolling Stone also reported claims that Combs physically abused Porter throughout their relationship. “I remember Kim used to go through a lot of stuff,” former Bad Boy rapper Mark Curry told the outlet. “If you live around them, you get to see the toxic relationship.… I think every relationship he had that I experienced around him was like that.”
The recent exposé follows several allegations against Combs detailing physical and sexual abuse, as well as sex trafficking claims. More recently, on May 23, April Lampos and her attorneys alleged in a new lawsuit obtained that Combs committed battery, sexual assault, negligent infliction of emotional distress, and violation of the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Law.
Lampos described four “terrifying sexual encounters” with Combs. One incident also involved Porter, in which Lampos claimed the rapper forced her to take “ecstasy” and have sex with Porter, adding that Porter “retaliated” and that she and Combs got her fired from a job.
“Sickening allegations have been made against me by individuals looking for a quick payday. Let me be absolutely clear: I did not do any of the awful things being alleged. I will fight for my name, my family, and for the truth,” he added.Combs did admit to and apologize for his conduct in a surveillance video released by CNN on May 17 showing him grabbing, shoving, and kicking his ex-girlfriend singer Cassie during a 2016 altercation.
“I was messed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video,” he said on Instagram. He captioned the post, “I’m truly sorry.”
